Where is Anguilla?
Anguilla is located in the Eastern Caribbean, (18° North Latitude and 63° West Longitude) just one-hour east of Puerto Rico and seven minutes north of Dutch St.Martin by air; and just under 30 minutes north of French St.Martin or Dutch St.Maarten by ferry. There are a number of options available for getting to Anguilla. Visitors can fly directly into Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport from Puerto Rico via Seaborne Airlines (which had code sharing arrangements with several international airlines) or opt to fly directly to St.Maarten for easy ferry or air transfer to Anguilla.

The Eastern Caribbean Dollar (XCD) is the basic currency, and the United States Dollar is widely accepted throughout Anguilla.

Driving in Anguilla
Driving is on the left-hand side of the road, and a local driver’s license is required which is provided by your local vehicle rental agent.
Nearest International Airport
The nearest international gateways are St. Maarten/Martin (7 minute flight), San Juan, Puerto Rico and Antigua (1 hour ﬂight).
A US $20 departure tax applies to all tourists departing from Anguilla via the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport. There is no charge for children under twelve years old. The Departure tax for departures through the Blowing Point Ferry terminal are as follows:
- Adults: USD28.00 per person
- Children: USD18.00 per child (5 – 11 years)
- Children: USD3.00 per child (2 – 4 years)
- Infants: No charge (0 – 1 year)
- Excursions/Day Trip to surrounding islands: USD 8.00
A valid passport (not expiring during your stay) is required when traveling to Anguilla. Visitors are required to have a return or onward ticket. Additionally, citizens of certain countries will also need entry visas. (Please be sure to enquire if unsure). Green card holders must have a valid green card and valid passport from their country of origin.
